Thank You for an Incredible INFOTEL 2023 — IT Gallery Reflects on Sri Lanka's Premier ICT Exhibition

From 3rd to 5th November 2023, IT Gallery Computers (Pvt) Ltd was proud to be part of INFOTEL 2023 at BMICH Sri Lanka's largest and most influential ICT exhibition, returning after a three-year hiatus under the theme "Fuelling the Digital Economy." Across three extraordinary days, the IT Gallery booth brought together the company's full brand portfolio, Lenovo, Hikvision, EZVIZ, Pantum, OCEAN, and more welcoming thousands of visitors, partners, and industry peers in a celebration of Sri Lanka's digital future.

As the doors of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall closed on the final day of INFOTEL 2023, IT Gallery Computers (Pvt) Ltd looked back on three extraordinary days with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. From 3rd to 5th November 2023, Sri Lanka's premier ICT exhibition returned to BMICH after a three-year hiatus, bringing together the country's brightest minds, leading technology brands, government leaders, industry partners, and tens of thousands of visitors from all walks of life. And IT Gallery had the privilege of being right at the heart of it all. To every visitor who stopped by our booth, every partner who engaged with our team, every customer who expressed interest in our products and services, and every fellow exhibitor who shared in the spirit of the event — thank you. Your presence is what made INFOTEL 2023 such a resounding success for us, and the energy you brought to our space is something we will carry into the months ahead.

INFOTEL is no ordinary exhibition. Launched in 1992 by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as a foundational initiative to develop Sri Lanka's ICT industry, INFOTEL has grown into the largest and most influential ICT exhibition in the country, organised year after year by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS). Held continuously for nearly three decades until 2019, the exhibition went on a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic and the country's economic challenges. Its return in 2023 was therefore much more than a calendar event. It was a comeback moment for Sri Lanka's entire ICT community — a clear, confident signal that the industry was ready to rebuild, reinvest, and rise again. To be part of that moment was meaningful for IT Gallery in a way that very few exhibitions ever are.

The theme of INFOTEL 2023 — "Fuelling the Digital Economy" — could not have been more fitting. Conducted under the guidance of the State Ministry of Technology and inaugurated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe himself, the exhibition placed Sri Lanka's digital transformation at the centre of the national conversation. Across three packed days, INFOTEL brought together a remarkable cross-section of the country's ICT landscape, covering everything from artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to smart education, smart health, agritech, smart cities, green energy, and digital government solutions. For Sri Lanka, an event of this scale and ambition arrived at exactly the right time, helping to bridge the technological gaps of the previous three years and re-energise the entire industry. For IT Gallery, the exhibition was a chance to contribute directly to that national conversation by showcasing the world-class technology brands the company brings to Sri Lanka.

At the IT Gallery booth, visitors had the opportunity to explore the full breadth of the company's distribution portfolio under one roof. From Lenovo's latest laptops, desktops, and gaming machines, to Hikvision's intelligent surveillance and security solutions, to EZVIZ's complete smart home ecosystem, to Pantum's reliable printing solutions, to OCEAN computer peripherals and the wider range of brands IT Gallery proudly represents — every product on display told a story of how technology can make life and work better in Sri Lanka. Conversations at the booth ranged from technical deep-dives with system integrators and resellers, to casual product demonstrations for everyday customers curious about smart home cameras or affordable gaming laptops, to strategic discussions with enterprise IT teams exploring fleet upgrades. Every interaction was different, but every one of them was valuable.

What made the experience so memorable was not just the products, but the people. Three days of conversations with visitors from across the country reminded the entire IT Gallery team why exhibitions like INFOTEL matter so much. There were entrepreneurs exploring the right surveillance solution for their first store. There were university students discovering Lenovo's Legion gaming lineup for the first time and dreaming about what they could create with that kind of performance. There were homeowners excited to learn that EZVIZ smart cameras could be set up at home in minutes without complex wiring. There were corporate IT managers comparing options for their next laptop refresh. And there were industry peers and fellow exhibitors stopping by to exchange ideas, share thoughts on where the industry is heading, and build the kind of relationships that pay dividends long after the show floor is packed away. Every one of these conversations was a reminder that the work IT Gallery does — bringing global technology brands to Sri Lankan customers — is meaningful, and that the people who engage with that work are the heart of why it matters.

The energy on the BMICH show floor across those three days was something the entire industry will remember for years to come. Visitors moved between booths discovering the latest in AI, robotics, e-sports, cloud solutions, fintech, and connected devices. Tech startups showcased their innovations alongside established global brands. Government leaders, ICT professionals, students, families, and curious members of the general public all moved through the venue with genuine excitement, exploring the future of Sri Lanka's digital economy in real time. INFOTEL 2023 was, quite simply, the kind of event that reminds you why exhibitions still matter in an age of digital communication — because nothing replaces the energy of being in the same room with the people, the products, and the ideas shaping your industry.

For IT Gallery, INFOTEL 2023 was also a moment to reaffirm the company's commitment to the future of Sri Lanka's IT industry. As one of the country's leading value-added distributors of globally renowned ICT brands, IT Gallery sees itself as more than just a distributor of products. The company plays an active role in the wider ecosystem — supporting partners, training resellers, equipping system integrators, engaging with customers, and contributing to the industry conversations that shape where Sri Lanka's technology landscape is heading. INFOTEL 2023 gave the IT Gallery team a chance to live that mission out loud across three days, in front of thousands of visitors, alongside the country's most important ICT players. To be part of an event of this national significance, in support of Sri Lanka's digital economy ambitions, was both a privilege and a responsibility — and one the company took on with great pride.

Looking ahead, the relationships built and the conversations started at INFOTEL 2023 will continue to shape IT Gallery's work in the months and years to come. New partner discussions are already moving forward. Customer queries from the booth are being followed up with care. Ideas exchanged with fellow exhibitors are being explored. And the renewed energy that the entire industry took away from INFOTEL is being channelled into the next chapter of growth for everyone who participated. The exhibition may have ended, but its impact will continue for a long time yet.

To FITIS, the State Ministry of Technology, and the entire INFOTEL Organising Committee — thank you for bringing this incredible exhibition back to Sri Lanka and for the tireless work that went into making it such a success. To every visitor who walked through the doors of BMICH and chose to spend a few minutes at our booth — thank you for your interest, your questions, your enthusiasm, and your support. To our partners, resellers, and customers who continue to choose IT Gallery for their technology needs — thank you for the trust you place in us every day, and for being the reason events like this hold such meaning. And to every fellow exhibitor who shared the show floor with us — thank you for being part of a community that continues to push Sri Lanka's ICT industry forward.

INFOTEL 2023 may have come to an end, but the journey it represents is just beginning. Here is to a stronger, smarter, more connected Sri Lanka — and to many more milestones together in the years to come.
